New Eden is an American metal band that was formed in California back in 1993 by guitarist Horacio Colmenares (Steel Prophet). The style of the band is technical power metal the American way.The current vocalist of the band is Rod Arias, however, in the past there have sung for New Eden some famous vocalists like James Rivera (Helstar) and Rick Mythiasin (Steel Prophet). This is their fourth album many years after they released their third album “Stagnant Progression”. “Stagnant Progression” was released on 31 December of 2003 so it has been more than eight years since we last heard from them. The album is quite good and it has a solid sound but it doesn’t have the “fabric” of an exceptional album. In two words the album flows quite pleasantly but in the end you won’t be able to remember any of the tunes. In conclusion this is a quite good album which will please the New Eden fans, but personally I prefer other stuff from Pure Steel Records (like Artizan, Scarlatyna, Exxplorer, Attick Demons, etc.).
P.S.: The cover of “Solving for X” is really interesting.
