Stargate is a Greek band that was founded in 2003 in Thessaloniki. The founders of the band were Kostas Domenikiotis (bass – Uthull), Sakis Bandis (keyboards – Horizon’s End, KONAN), Jim Tiktopoulos and Anthimos Manti. Bandis isn’t part of Stargate anymore.
They released their first homonymous album back in 2004 and now they are releasing their second album “Reborn” from the same record label, Steel Gallery Records. I would characterize their style as hard and heavy with a bunch of melodic parts. I would say that their second album is better than their first one. The album has a nice flow, a suitable production and an adequate technical level. The song writing level is also quite good. I would say that the best tunes are “Music from the Heart”, “If You Will Return”, “I Can’t Stop Thinking” and “The Otherside”. The best anthem of the album is the great “Summernights”!! In conclusion this is a good album for all the fans of hard and heavy!!
