Ashbury – Something Funny Going On (private)

28 Sep

This is the band’s second release. ASHBURY were made 30 years ago in Arizona and in 1983 released alone their debut “Endless Skies”. It was re-released a couple years ago by Rockadrome Records. Their second album was released in 2004 and it was difficult to be found until now which is re-released by the band. In that all tracks written, arranged, engineered and produced by Randy & Rob Davis. It is ASHBURY’s follow up to “Endless Skies” in answer to numerous requests from fans for another original album-vintage Ashbury indeed! The re-release of this album has new pictures; lyrics & information about the band. The cd is also factory pressed and not a kind of cd-r as the original form of this album. The album is really good and reminds me their debut album “Endless Skies” it is a bit less “aggressive” though. For those who haven’t heard them we should tell that the band plays epic hard rock. The best tracks of the cd are “The Cold Light of Day”, “Always Something More”, “Sonora Rain” (the best track of the album), “Sundown Turnaround” and the homonym track. The band is recording its third album now which will be more like “Endless Skies”. The two cds along with the brand new T-Shirts of the band (I already bought one!) can be found at the band’s official site. In conclusion the two releases of Ashbury are just a must for all the friends of good music!!!

P.S.: ASHBURY are recording their third album right now!!
