Omega-The Prophet (High Roller)

omega-the-prophet-lp

Omega is an old band from England. Even though it was regarded as an N.W.O.B.H.M. act it wasn’t. Omega’s real musical style was progressive rock with some traditional metal guitar parts. The band was formed by Steve Graigner (guitar, keyboards) in 1980 under the name of Apocalypse. The stuff of Apocalypse is also being Read the rest of this entry »

Deep Machine

This is an EP by the British band, Deep Machine, that’s into the N.W.O.B.H.M. scene. They were as popular as bands like early Praying Mantis and early Angelwitch and various live tapes of Deep Machine were floating around the tape trading circuit. Deep Machine released 4 demos back in the ’80s (demo ’80, demo ’81, Read the rest of this entry »

Big Daisy-Fever

It’s sad but true the fact that a very significant percentage (some rise the percentage to 75%) of the N.W.O.B.H.M. music comes not from LP’s but from EP’s, 7”, 12” and demos. Here we have a magnificent 7” from a power trio from Lichfield, named Big Daisy. The leader of that band is Read the rest of this entry »

Sanctus-Thy Disciples (demo 1983)

This was a London based heavy metal band that released two demos only. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to listen to their second demo, but this one is really good! “Thy Disciples” contains three songs which have a duration of at least seven minutes each. The best song of the demo is “A king for a King”. The style of Read the rest of this entry »
